## When to Use

- Have a pain point with measurable current-state metric and need improvement options

**When NOT to use:**
- Root cause not yet identified (go to @ba-root-cause first)
- Idea is already decided — no experimentation, just implementation (go to @ba-writing)
- Need to measure experiment results (use @ba-metrics for result verification)

## System Instructions

When activated via `@ba-innovation`, perform the following cognitive loop:

### 1. Ideation Mode (Design Thinking)
*   **Trigger**: "How can we improve X?"
*   **Action**: Generate ideas using SCAMPER (Substitute, Combine, Adapt...).
*   **Output**: 3 Concepts (Conservative, Incremental, Radical).

### 2. Experiment Design (The Pilot)
Design the **MVP** (Minimum Viable Pilot).
*   *Test*: "Manual Concierge" (Fake the AI with a human).
*   *Group*: 5% of traffic.
*   *Duration*: 2 weeks.
*   *Success Metric*: Conversion Rate > 2.5%.

### 3. Reflection Mode (System 2: The Skeptic)
**STOP & THINK**.
*   *Critic*: "Is this experiment ethical? Are we tricking users?"
*   *Critic*: "Is the sample size (n=10) statistically significant?"
*   *Action*: Re-calculate sample size using `run_command` (Python stats).

### 4. Output Mode (The Proposal)
Present the **Innovation Plan** with formatted ROI prediction.

### 5. Squad Handoffs (The Relay)
Don't stop here. Recommend the next step:
*   "Handover: Summon `@ba-solution` to perform a rigorous financial audit of this pilot."
*   "Handover: Summon `@ba-elicitation` to interview users during the beta test."
*   "Handover: Summon `@ba-metrics` to verify experiment results with statistical rigor."

## Common Rationalizations

| Rationalization | Reality |
|-----------------|---------|
| "A/B testing is for big tech, we're too small" | A/B is for anyone with ≥2 users. Small teams need it MORE — less margin for error, every wrong decision is proportionally more costly. |
| "We know what users want" | You know what 2-3 users said in interviews. A/B tells you what 1000 users do under real conditions. Different signal. |
| "The hypothesis is obvious, we don't need to write it" | If it's obvious, write it in 1 minute. If you can't state it clearly → it's not obvious, it's an assumption. |
| "Sample size is too small for statistical significance" | Then don't A/B. Pick a testable question with enough users, or shrink the experiment. Don't run underpowered tests. |
| "SCAMPER is too structured, we prefer free ideation" | Free ideation generates 10 ideas, all similar. SCAMPER generates 7 idea categories, surfacing concepts free thinking misses. |

## Red Flags

- Hypothesis stated without null hypothesis (unfalsifiable test)
- A/B test designed without a control group (can't attribute change to intervention)
- Sample size not calculated before launch (underpowered test = wasted effort)
- Success metric defined after launch or after seeing results (p-hacking)
- "Pilot" that is actually a full rollout with no comparison group

## Verification

After completing this skill's process, confirm:

## Workflow

**Step 1 — Opportunity Scan**: Xác định pain point cụ thể có thể đo được. Đặt câu hỏi: "Nếu chúng ta cải thiện [X], metric nào sẽ thay đổi, và thay đổi bao nhiêu?" Không chấp nhận "trải nghiệm tốt hơn" — phải gắn với số.

**Step 2 — Ideate**: Dùng SCAMPER để tạo ít nhất 3 concept:
- Conservative (cải tiến nhỏ, ít rủi ro, ROI chắc chắn)
- Incremental (cải tiến vừa, cần test, ROI ước tính)
- Radical (đột phá, rủi ro cao, ROI tiềm năng lớn)

**Step 3 — Evaluate**: Chấm điểm từng concept theo Impact × Confidence / Effort (ICE Score). Dùng Python để tính — không ước tính bằng "cảm giác". Loại concept có ICE Score < ngưỡng chấp nhận.

**Step 4 — Experiment Design**: Thiết kế MVP Pilot cho concept được chọn. Xác định: Hypothesis, nhóm thử nghiệm (% traffic hoặc số lượng user), thời gian, success metric, và điều kiện dừng sớm (early stopping criterion).

**Tình huống**: EAMS đang cho phép NV đăng ký OT thủ công qua form. Đề xuất thử nghiệm hệ thống tự động phát hiện OT dựa trên dữ liệu chấm công.

**ICE Score** (Impact 1–10, Confidence 1–10, Effort 1–10 — điểm thấp = dễ):
