# content-marketing-operations

## Agent: Content Marketer

L3 content marketer (Nx) responsible for ongoing content production and distribution operations.

Department ethos: [ideal-marketing.md](../../../../departments/marketing/ideal-marketing.md)
Tool policy: [allowed-tools.yaml](../../../../allowed-tools.yaml)

## Skill Description

Operates the ongoing content marketing programme -- producing, editing, publishing, and distributing content assets on cadence to feed demand generation and nurture sequences.

## When to Use

- When the editorial calendar has upcoming pieces that need to move through the production pipeline.
- When demand gen campaigns require new blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, or email content.
- When publishing cadence has slipped and a backlog of drafts needs to be cleared.
- When content performance data indicates a topic or format is outperforming and warrants a follow-up series.

## Workflow

1. **Review editorial calendar**: Check the current week's editorial calendar for assigned pieces, due dates, and status. Apply the weekly production status model from [`references/framework.md`](references/framework.md) to identify at-risk and blocked pieces. Deliverable: weekly production status update.
2. **Brief and draft**: Write or coordinate drafts from briefs. Follow the style guide, incorporate SEO keywords using the SEO integration standards in [`references/framework.md`](references/framework.md), and align messaging to current positioning. Deliverable: completed first draft per brief.
3. **Edit and review**: Route drafts through editorial review for accuracy, tone, and brand consistency. Incorporate SME feedback on technical content. Deliverable: approved final draft.
4. **Publish and optimize**: Format content in the CMS and clear every check in the CMS publishing checklist in [`references/framework.md`](references/framework.md). Publish on schedule. Deliverable: live content with tracking in place.
5. **Distribute across channels**: Execute distribution steps in sequence from [`references/framework.md`](references/framework.md). Apply the repurposing matrix to generate derivative assets from long-form content. Deliverable: distribution confirmation with channel-specific links.

## Anti-Patterns

- **Publishing without distribution**: Hitting publish and moving to the next piece without executing the distribution plan. *Why*: organic discovery alone generates a fraction of potential reach; undistributed content is invisible content.
- **Ignoring performance feedback**: Producing content on schedule without reviewing what previous pieces actually generated in traffic, leads, or engagement. *Why*: a production engine that ignores performance data optimizes for output, not outcomes.
- **Style guide drift**: Writing in inconsistent voice, tone, or terminology across pieces. *Why*: inconsistency erodes brand trust and confuses buyers who encounter multiple content pieces in their journey.

## Output

**On success**: Produces published content assets on cadence with tracking in place, distributed across all planned channels, and logged in the content library. Weekly production status delivered to demand gen manager.

**On failure**: Report which pieces missed their publish date, what blocked production (SME availability, design bottleneck, approval delay), and propose revised timelines or scope adjustments to get back on cadence.
