# ICAIRE Comms Lead: Draft Newsletter

Draft newsletter issues that help ICAIRE communicate updates, opportunities,
events, and resources with a coherent editorial frame.

## Contract

- Start from audience, issue date, objective, available stories, and required
  links.
- Use BigBrain or the ICAIRE MCP connector for ICAIRE initiatives, events,
people, partner context, prior communications, and sensitivities when the user
has not supplied enough source material.
- Build a clear issue structure with subject lines, headlines, concise
summaries, links, and calls to action.
- Keep the newsletter scannable and avoid turning it into a long report.
- For layout, header, image, or template notes, use ICAIRE's primary brand
color `#4A9549` as the main accent unless an approved newsletter design
  system overrides it.
- Mark missing links, assets, approvals, and facts before publication.

## Workflow

1. Define the issue.
   - Identify target audience, send date, language, priority message, and
     required sections.
   - If the user provides a story list, preserve priority while improving flow.
2. Gather stories and links.
   - Read provided updates, website links, event notes, reports, announcements,
     and calls to action.
   - Query BigBrain or ICAIRE MCP for current context when names, initiatives,
     or partner references are unclear.
3. Set the editorial frame.
   - Choose the lead story, supporting items, and closing call to action.
   - Group content by reader value, not internal org chart.
4. Draft the issue.
   - Provide subject line options, preheader, opening note, story headlines,
summaries, links, and calls to action.
   - Keep summaries short and actionable.
5. Review readiness.
   - Check that every link, claim, quote, image, and partner mention is either
confirmed or clearly marked for approval.

## Output

Default to this structure unless the user requested another format:

- `Subject Lines`: several options matched to the audience.
- `Preheader`: short preview text.
- `Opening Note`: concise editorial framing.
- `Issue Structure`: ordered sections and stories.
- `Story Blocks`: headline, summary, link, and call to action.
- `Closing`: sign-off or final action.
- `Approval Checklist`: links, facts, images, quotes, and stakeholder reviews.

## Guardrails

- Do not invent links, events, publications, partner endorsements, or calls to
  action.
- Do not make internal uncertainty sound publication-ready.
- Do not bury the main story below lower-priority filler.
- Do not use clickbait subject lines for institutional communications.
- Do not claim the issue is ready to send when approvals or links are missing.
