# Local Event Research

Find, clean, dedupe, and verify local events for a newsletter issue.

## Core Rule

Prepare verified event data for a newsletter issue. If a connected workspace is available, save or hand off source notes and event queues there.

## Sources To Check

Use the provided source list first. Add gaps from:

- City and county event calendars
- Parks, libraries, schools, chambers, and civic pages
- Venues, theaters, galleries, bookstores, restaurants, and sports facilities
- Chambers of commerce and business districts
- Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, neighborhood forums, and local publications

## Workflow

1. Confirm city, date range, audience, and excluded categories.
2. Collect candidate events with title, date, time, location, price, URL, organizer, and notes.
3. Normalize date, time, price, venue, address, and registration URL.
4. Dedupe across calendars, venue pages, social posts, and publications.
5. Verify the official source, price, registration link, and availability when possible.
6. Mark each item as `verified`, `needs_check`, or `exclude`.
7. Identify backup events for last-minute cancellations or sold-out picks.
8. Save or hand off the event queue for issue building.

## Output Format

Use a table with:

| Status | Event | Date | Time | Location | Price | Audience fit | Source | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |

Then include:

- Top picks for the issue
- Backup picks
- Items needing manual verification
- Excluded items and why
- Source gaps to add to the newsletter workspace

## Guardrails

- Do not invent missing dates, prices, locations, or URLs.
- Prefer official source links.
- Keep uncertain items out of final issue copy until verified.
