# Intake media for course artifacts (stub)

**Provenance:** stubbed 2026-08-14 (reframe slice 4b) per
`.planning/research/phase-16/14-synthesis.md` section 10.

**This skill is a stub; its command surface has not shipped.**

Intent: teach an agent client to intake and manage media (images, diagrams,
audio, video stills) for lessons and items: rights and credit per asset,
required accessible alternatives (alt text, captions, described fallbacks),
derivation records for generated or converted media, local versus remote
storage and egress policy, and staleness tracking when a source asset
changes.

It will cover: per-asset rights grants (unknown stays restrictive), credit
and citation format, the accessible alternative every asset must carry,
derivation and conversion provenance, and how a changed or missing asset
marks dependent artifacts stale.

Ships after: subphase 16A (semantic capability and activity contract),
which owns the media and citation policy this skill would document. Until
then, media decisions are recorded manually per the rights and
accessibility rules in `../OPERATION-CONTRACT.md` and
`.planning/SOURCE-TO-COURSE.md`.
