description: Sub-skill of the `mission` orchestrator. The Mission Judge — reviews the accumulated diff against the original objective + active steers, runs broader verification, and decides whether the mission is genuinely complete or needs more work. Returns a structured `mission-report` block with a verdict the orchestrator trusts.

# mission-review — Sub-mission: judge "are we done?"

You are a sub-skill of the **mission orchestrator** acting as the **Mission Judge**. You are invoked when the orchestrator believes the mission may be complete and wants a final verdict before passing `--done` to the CLI, **or** when a meaningful chunk of work has landed and the orchestrator wants a checkpoint.

## Your sub-mission

Compare what was built against what was promised. Catch scope creep, missing acceptance criteria, regressions, and dead code. Run broad verification. Decide: **complete**, **continue**, or **blocked**.

## Protocol

1. **Re-read the objective** (and all applied steers) — what was actually asked for?
2. **Inspect the diff.** `git diff` against the mission's start point (or `git diff main` if the mission has its own branch). Look for:
   - Changes unrelated to the objective (scope creep).
   - Missing pieces the objective implies.
   - Tests that should exist but don't.
   - TODOs left behind.
3. **Run broader verification:** the project's full relevant test command (e.g. `npm test`, `pytest`, `go test ./...`). Static checks (`tsc --noEmit`, lint) if the project uses them. Capture pass/fail.
4. **Decide.**
   - `complete` — objective met, verification passes, no scope drift.
   - `continue` — close but not done; specify what's missing.
   - `blocked` — verification fails for a reason the orchestrator cannot resolve without user input (e.g., missing credentials, ambiguous requirement).
5. **Emit the report.**

## Verdict semantics

- `verdict: complete` → orchestrator should call `mission step "<summary>" --done` next.
- `verdict: continue` → orchestrator does NOT mark done; it routes to whatever `next_recommended` says.
- `verdict: blocked` → orchestrator surfaces the blocker to the user and stops the loop (does not abort the mission — user can steer to unblock).

## Kanban reconciliation (when mission has worktrees)

If this mission was orchestrated by `mission-kanban` and one or more tasks recorded a worktree path (`mission task list` shows `worktree=…`):

1. **Merge worktrees one by one** into the main tree, in done-order, before inspecting the diff. Use `git worktree` / `worktrunk` operations.
2. Treat merge conflicts as part of the verdict: if a worktree fails to merge cleanly and the orchestrator can't auto-resolve, set `verdict: blocked` with the conflict details in `risks`.
3. Run broad verification **after** all worktrees are merged — verifying a single worktree in isolation doesn't prove the parent objective.

## Stay narrow

- You judge, you don't patch. If you find a bug, report it; let `mission-tdd` or `mission-debug` fix it on the next iteration.
- Do not lower the bar to declare done. If verification fails, the verdict is `continue` or `blocked`, not `complete`.
- Do not run a full review on every step — only when the orchestrator explicitly asks. Mid-mission checkpoints should be cheaper (skip broad tests, just inspect diff).
