Use the OSM tools to scope the comparison: `impact_analysis(entity_type=…, entity_name=…)` gives
the blast radius (dependent modules, JS patches affected) of a changed field/method/model;
`api_version_diff` surfaces what changed between two Odoo versions so you target the right screens
in an upgrade comparison; `find_style_override` predicts which screens a styling change touches;
`module_inspect` / `model_inspect` map a module/model to the views and components that render it.

These chrome-devtools MCP tools capture and compare the two states (not part of the OSM surface):

## Workflow

Work in rounds. Within a round, fire independent calls in the same message.

### Round 0 — Load context

Read `.odoo-ai/context.md` in the project root if present. It uses Markdown bullets, NOT YAML —
parse lines of the form `- **key**: value`. Extract:

- `odoo_version` — the current/target version; for an upgrade comparison, also ask for the source version.
- `instance_base_url` — the running instance root for each state under comparison.
- `instance_login` — login identifier and agreed credential source.
- `screenshot_baseline_dir` — directory where baseline screenshots are stored and re-read.

If the file is absent or a key is missing, fall back to the plugin's own portable conventions
before asking: read `.odoo-ai/instances.toml` (written by `/odoo-ai-agents:odoo-setup`) for the
instance URL, and resolve the Odoo version from the request or the OSM index
(`list_available_versions`). Only ask the user (plus the two states to compare: e.g.
"before/after which change?") in a single message if none of these supply the needed values.
Do not guess.

Once the concrete `odoo_version` is resolved, **pin it** with `set_active_version(odoo_version=<concrete>)`
(reachability probe) and pass that concrete version on every Round 1 OSM scoping call (`module_inspect`,
`impact_analysis`, `find_style_override`) - the pin is per-API-key and racy under concurrency, so relying on
it would risk scoping the comparison set against the wrong version's views/stylesheets.

### Round 1 — Scope the comparison set (parallel, OSM)

Predict which screens are likely to drift so the baseline set is targeted:

- Upgrade: `api_version_diff(symbol=<scope>, from_version=<old>, to_version=<new>)`.
- Code change: `impact_analysis(entity_type=<field|method|model>, entity_name=<dotted>, odoo_version='<version>')`.
- Styling change: `find_style_override(selector_or_variable=<selector>, odoo_version='<version>')` to find which
  modules override the selector, plus `resolve_stylesheet(module=<changed_module>, odoo_version='<version>')` for the
  full `@import` chain — a stylesheet change ripples to every screen that transitively imports it, so the
  override origin alone under-scopes the comparison set.
- Theme/token change: when a diff shows a screen gone "flat" (empty surfaces, washed-out text,
  badges without fill), treat it as a design-token regression — check token reality per
  `${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/skills/_shared/odoo-frontend-fidelity.md` (empty or
  self-referential CSS custom properties), not just a pixel diff.
- Map results to screens: `module_inspect(name=<module>, method='views', odoo_version='<version>')` and `model_inspect(model=<model>, method='summary', odoo_version='<version>')`.

### Round 2 — Capture baseline (browser)

For each in-scope screen, at each agreed breakpoint:

1. `navigate_page` to the screen (state A — the baseline build).
2. `resize_page` to the breakpoint.
3. `take_screenshot`, saved under `<screenshot_baseline_dir>/baseline/<screen>-<breakpoint>.png`.

### Round 3 — Capture current + diff (browser)

Switch the instance to state B (or point at the second instance URL), then for each screen:

1. `resize_page` to the same breakpoint, `take_screenshot` to
   `<screenshot_baseline_dir>/current/<screen>-<breakpoint>.png`.
2. Compare baseline vs current screenshot pairs. Where a pixel diff is ambiguous, use
   `evaluate_script` to compare the DOM structure/text of the region.

### Round 4 — Report drift + scope

List each screen as UNCHANGED / DRIFTED, attach both screenshots for drifted screens, and tie the
drift back to the predicted blast radius from Round 1. Flag any drifted screen NOT predicted by the
impact analysis as a higher-priority surprise.

## Standalone-first fallback

- **OSM unreachable:** skip Round 1 scoping; ask the user which screens to compare, or grep the
  repo for changed views/stylesheets to build the set
  (`grep -rln "<selector>" --include=*.scss`). Prefix with
  `⚠ OSM unreachable — comparison set chosen without blast-radius analysis, may miss affected screens`.
- **Browser MCP or instance unreachable:** if the orchestrator has provided pre-captured
  before/after screenshot paths in context, use those pairs directly for the diff. If no
  pre-captured pairs are available, return `BLOCKED(Browser MCP unavailable - cannot capture
  screenshots for regression diff)` to the orchestrator. Do NOT ask the user to paste screenshots
  or URLs. Prefix the output (if pre-captured pairs were used) with
  `⚠ Instance unreachable - diff limited to pre-captured screenshots`.

**Example 1 — upgrade regression v16 → v17**

Prompt: "We upgraded from Odoo 16 to 17 — did any backend screens change visually?"
