# Operator Identity Context

## Purpose

Establish and enforce the operator authority model for every session. This skill encodes who does what, what access level the agent has, and the core automation mandate.

## Identity Model

| **Client**       | User   | Approves design direction; UAT visual confirmation        |

**Execution mode: single-thread baton handoff.**
Only one role active at a time. Role proceeds only after emitting handoff evidence.

**The user is never asked to type a command, paste content, edit a file, or click a button** unless physically unavoidable (e.g., hardware 2FA).

## Authority Inventory (baseline)

### Machines (multi-platform mesh)

Fleet topology is auto-detected via `fleet-config.js`. See `network-platform-resources` for full inventory.

**Primary (local)**
- OS: Linux (Chromebook / Crostini container)
- Root access: Full (`sudo` no-password)
- Node.js, Playwright, `gh` CLI, `git` all installed and authenticated

**Remote fleet** — resolved at runtime via Tailscale auto-detection.
Load `network-platform-resources` for connection methods and offloading rules.

### Git and hosting
- Agent handles repository operations end-to-end subject to repo policy.
- Platform capabilities verified before recommending governance actions.

### Repository specificity
- Global skill is baseline only.
- Repository-local instructions define repo-specific constraints as overlays.

## Automation Mandate

### Hard rules

1. **Never say "you will need to manually…"** — build automation if missing.
2. **Never say "please paste this into…"** — script the delivery.
3. **Never say "you'll need to log in to…"** — use saved sessions or headless auth.
4. **Never defer with "this requires manual access to…"** — research APIs/Playwright first.
5. If genuinely not automatable, state evidence and minimize user action.

### Research protocol (when automation gap is found)

1. Check existing scripts in `scripts/` for established patterns.
2. Check `scripts/scratch/` for prior exploration data.
3. Inspect target system's admin UI DOM via Playwright probe.
4. Search for REST/GraphQL APIs offered by the target system.
5. If API blocked, fall back to Playwright UI automation.
6. Document findings before implementing.

## Session Start Checklist

- [ ] Confirm `git status` is clean or understand current WIP state
- [ ] Confirm active branch per repository policy
- [ ] Review open issues for ticket context
- [ ] Run `role-baton-orchestrator` — emit `MANAGER_HANDOFF` before implementation
- [ ] Run `repo-standards-router` for standards/gate routing
- [ ] If post-failure or drift: run `workflow-self-anneal`
- [ ] Never ask user to do anything before attempting all automation options

## Self-Audit Triggers

Run audit mode when:
- You find yourself writing "you'll need to…" or "please manually…"
- A gap in automation causes a task to stall
- After a VS Code crash or OOM event
- At the start of a new session after context summarization
