## Delegation

### Tool Lookup

```
Agent(
  description="People Search tool search",
  prompt="Find OSINT tools for People Search.\n
    Read skills/people-search/references/tools.md\n
    Return recommendations matching the user's specific need."
)
```

### Active Investigation

```
Agent(
  subagent_type="osint-framework:osint-investigator",
  description="People Search investigation: [target]",
  prompt="Investigate person: [target]\n\n
    Primary: Read skills/people-search/references/tools.md\n
    Secondary: Read skills/username-recon/references/tools.md\n
    Secondary: Read skills/social-networks/references/tools.md\n
    Execute available CLI tools, query web resources, report findings.\n
    Start with free tools before freemium services."
)
```

## Compound Query Decomposition

When investigating a person with known employer/role context (e.g., "Robin
Mordasiewicz who works at F5 as a sales engineer"), decompose into three
parallel tracks:

1. **Person track**: name → GitHub/GitLab search → social profiles → professional history
2. **Company track**: employer → domain-recon → verify association
3. **Correlation track**: link person to company via repos, org membership, bio, TXT records

## Investigation Workflow

1. **GitHub API search** (richest free source): `api.github.com/search/users?q=LASTNAME` → get full profile (company, bio, location, blog, twitter) → repos (employer signals from names) → language stats (skills) → events (current activity) → gists (resume/CV)
2. **GitLab API**: `gitlab.com/api/v4/users?username=X` — free, no auth, returns profile
3. **Name Search**: Free aggregators (ThatsThem, PeekYou, IDCrawl) for phone/address/email
4. **Social Platform Probing**: Check GitHub-discovered handles on Twitter/X, LinkedIn (note: LinkedIn returns HTTP 999 — use Google dork `site:linkedin.com/in "NAME"` as fallback)
5. **Username Pivot**: Extract username pattern from GitHub → run `username-recon` cross-platform
6. **Repo Analysis**: Scan repo names for employer/product mentions (e.g., 37 "f5" repos = strong F5 signal). Analyze language distribution for technical skills profile.
7. **Contribution Events**: `users/{user}/events/public` shows where they work RIGHT NOW
8. **Family/Associates**: Search GitHub for same surname — may reveal family members
9. **Employer Domain Pivot**: Infer employer domain → run `domain-recon` (WHOIS, DNS, MX, TXT SaaS stack)
10. **Email Pivot**: If email found, verify and check breaches via `email-recon`
11. **Face Search**: If photo available, use FaceCheckID for reverse face matching
12. **Public Records**: Cross-reference with `public-records` for court, property, government data

## cURL / API Patterns for Person Investigation

```bash
# GitHub user search by surname
curl -s "https://api.github.com/search/users?q=SURNAME" \
  -H "Accept: application/vnd.github+json" | jq '.items[:5][] | {login, html_url}'
# Full GitHub profile
curl -s "https://api.github.com/users/USERNAME" \
  -H "Accept: application/vnd.github+json" | \
  jq '{login, name, company, blog, location, bio, twitter_username, public_repos, followers, created_at}'
# Repo names for employer signals
curl -s "https://api.github.com/users/USERNAME/repos?per_page=100&sort=updated" \
  -H "Accept: application/vnd.github+json" | \
  jq '[.[].name] | map(select(test("COMPANY_NAME";"i"))) | length'
# Language distribution (skills profile)
curl -s "https://api.github.com/users/USERNAME/repos?per_page=100" \
  -H "Accept: application/vnd.github+json" | \
  jq '[.[].language] | map(select(.!=null)) | group_by(.) | map({lang:.[0], count:length}) | sort_by(-.count)'
# Recent activity (where they work NOW)
curl -s "https://api.github.com/users/USERNAME/events/public?per_page=10" \
  -H "Accept: application/vnd.github+json" | jq '[.[:5][] | {type, repo: .repo.name, created_at}]'
# GitLab profile (no auth needed)
curl -s "https://gitlab.com/api/v4/users?username=USERNAME" | jq '.[0] | {username, name, bio, web_url}'
# Gists (may contain resume, config, keys)
curl -s "https://api.github.com/users/USERNAME/gists?per_page=10" \
  -H "Accept: application/vnd.github+json" | jq '[.[] | {description, files: [.files | keys[]]}]'
# Family/associate search (same surname)
curl -s "https://api.github.com/search/users?q=SURNAME" \
  -H "Accept: application/vnd.github+json" | jq '[.items[] | {login, html_url}]'
```

## Cross-Category Pivots

| When you find... | Pivot to |
| ------------------ | ---------- |
| Username or handle | `username-recon` -- Cross-platform username enumeration |
| Social media profiles | `social-networks` -- Platform-specific deep investigation |
| Email address | `email-recon` -- Verification, breach data, domain analysis |
| Phone number | `phone-recon` -- Carrier lookup, reverse phone, caller ID |
| Court or government records needed | `public-records` -- Court filings, property, voter records |

## OPSEC Notes

- Most tools (13 of 18) are **passive** with no registration required
- FaceCheckID, InfoFlow, and Ancestry.com are **active** -- they log queries and may require accounts
- ThatsThem, PeekYou, and IDCrawl are free but may display your search to the subject in some cases (people search notification features)
- Registry searches (The Knot, Amazon, The Bump) are fully passive and reveal relationship data without alerting the subject
- Genealogy sites may expose your research account name to other users of shared family trees
- People search aggregators frequently contain outdated or incorrect data; always cross-reference
- Be aware of legal restrictions: FCRA-regulated background check data requires permissible purpose
