name: predictive-next
description: After completing a task, anticipate what the user likely needs next and offer one concise, high-confidence next step
---

## Purpose

Save the user a turn when the next step is obvious.

## When to use

Use this only when the next action is a high-confidence continuation of the current workflow.

## Good cases

- A verification step naturally follows a change.
- A restart or refresh is the obvious activation step.
- A related test or small follow-up is clearly next.

## Do not use

- When multiple next steps are equally plausible.
- For destructive actions, deployment, or external communications.
- When the user is clearly moving fast and does not want suggestions.

## Rules

- Keep it to one line.
- Make it optional and low-pressure.
- Suppress it when confidence is low.
