# LogoMaker.com Platform Help

LogoMaker.com (**logomaker.com**, brand est. **2004**, **owned by Deluxe Corporation** — which acquired its parent
**LogoMix for $43M in 2018**) is a **budget logo maker + in-browser editor** — a peer in the budget logo cluster
(**Hatchful / DesignEvo / Namecheap / LOGO.com / LogoAI / Zoviz / Brandmark / Mojomox / Logomaster / Logomakerr /
Looka**). It's the **branding/logo step** for founders and small businesses who've locked a name — and the boundary
matters: a **logo is downstream of a locked name, which is downstream of a validated idea**, so validate demand
first (`/sales-idea-validation` → a real behavior test) and name it (`/sales-namelix`) before branding.

**The one fact that trips everyone up — there is NO free download.** LogoMaker lets you **design unlimited logos for
free**, but you must **pay a one-time package to download ANY file** — there is **no free tier output at all**. That's
the **harshest gate in the cluster** (Hatchful/Namecheap give free downloads, DesignEvo/LOGO.com give a free
credited-or-PNG download) — here a "free logo" is a **preview you can't keep**. For a genuinely **free** logo, use
**Namecheap** (free, incl. SVG) or **Hatchful** (free PNG).

**Pricing is ONE-TIME per logo — and vector is in the base package.** **Professional ~$40** (one-time, **not** a
subscription) includes **high-res PNG + vector (SVG)**; **Premium ~$60** adds **1-year unlimited edits + social
files** (best-effort). That beats **DesignEvo** (vector is Plus-only) and **LOGO.com** (subscription) on cheap
vector — **but** the surrounding **Deluxe upsells** (website/hosting, business email, listings, cards/merch) **are
recurring subscriptions**, and nearly all the **billing / hard-to-cancel complaints** trace to those, not the logo.

**It is UI-only — there is NO public API** (no webhooks, Zapier/Make, or MCP). The white-label / reseller "logo API"
programs you'll find by searching belong to **other tools** (LogoAI, LOGO.com), **not** LogoMaker — see Step 4.

## Step 1 — Gather context

If `references/learnings.md` exists, read it first for accumulated platform knowledge.

Ask only what you can't infer:

1. **What do you want from LogoMaker.com?**
   - A) Make/customize a logo (business name → AI concepts, then edit icons/text/colors/layout)
   - B) Confirm what's **free** vs **paid** (designing is free; **every download is paid**) or a specific **format**
(vector SVG + high-res PNG are both in the paid Professional package)
   - C) Understand the **packages** (Professional ~$40 vs Premium ~$60, one-time) and which Deluxe add-ons are recurring
   - D) **Ownership / trademark** — can I legally use and own this mark
   - E) A **billing / cancellation / refund** problem (usually a Deluxe subscription, not the logo — see Step 4)
   - F) Integrate or automate ("API" / bulk generation / reseller — see Step 4)
2. **What will the logo be used for — digital/social, or print/large-format?** If print/signage, you need
**vector** — included in the paid **Professional** package (SVG).

Skip-ahead: a *name* (not a logo) → `/sales-namelix`; the validate-before-building *method* or a branding-tool
comparison → `/sales-idea-validation`; wider social/marketing creative → `/sales-canva` — route in Step 2.

## Step 2 — Route or answer directly

| If the user's question is about… | Route to |
|---|---|
| Generating the **business name** itself (not the logo) | `/sales-namelix {question}` |
| The validate-before-building **method**, or comparing branding/logo tools across the market | `/sales-idea-validation {question}` |
| Wanting a **free** logo (LogoMaker has none) — free peer that also gives **free vector (SVG)** | `/sales-namecheap-logo-maker {question}` |
| Wanting a **free PNG** logo (no vector needed) | `/sales-hatchful {question}` |
| A **one-time** vector peer to compare against (free tier that downloads) | `/sales-designevo {question}` |
| Building the wider **social/marketing creative** or a design system at scale | `/sales-canva {question}` |

When routing, give the exact command: "This is a {domain} question — run: `/sales-namelix {original question}`"

Otherwise, answer LogoMaker-specific questions using Step 3.

## Step 3 — LogoMaker reference

**Read `references/platform-guide.md`** for the full reference — the **name → AI concepts → in-browser editor**
workflow and every module's automation tag; **exactly what "free" covers** (designing only — **no download**) vs
**paid** (every file; Professional ~$40 = high-res PNG + vector SVG, Premium ~$60 adds 1-year edits + social files);
the **one-time-vs-subscription** picture (logo is one-time; the **Deluxe website/email/listings/cards** add-ons are
recurring); the **custom done-for-you design** service ($99–$645); the **shared-icon / ownership vs trademark**
picture; and the **no-public-API** reality (why the white-label "logo APIs" you find are other tools).

Answer using only the relevant section — don't dump the full reference.

## Step 4 — Actionable guidance

- **Lead with the pay-to-download line — there is no free logo.** LogoMaker is **free to design, paid to download**:
you can make unlimited logos free, but **every file requires buying a package** (**Professional ~$40** or
**Premium ~$60**, one-time). There is **no free tier output** — don't tell a user they can download for free.
**Flag all pricing as best-effort → verify at logomaker.com.**
- **If they want a FREE logo, send them elsewhere.** The free peers are **Namecheap Logo Maker**
(`/sales-namecheap-logo-maker`) — free, and it includes **free vector SVG** — and **Hatchful** (`/sales-hatchful`)
  — free but **PNG-only**. LogoMaker gives nothing until you pay.
- **Vector is in the base package — a real advantage.** Unlike **DesignEvo** (vector SVG/PDF is **Plus-only**) or
**LOGO.com** (vector behind a **subscription**), LogoMaker's **Professional ~$40** already includes **vector (SVG)**
  plus high-res PNG — so for a **one-time paid vector**, it's competitively priced. Print/signage needs vector; a
  raster PNG pixelates when enlarged.
- **Call out one-time vs the recurring Deluxe upsells — this is where billing pain lives.** The **logo package is
  one-time**, but LogoMaker/Deluxe upsells recurring services (**website/hosting ~$14/mo, business email ~$6/mo,
website+email bundles ~$18–$48/mo, business listings ~$4.95/mo, cards/merch**) — and nearly all the **"charged
repeatedly / can't cancel / no refund"** complaints trace to those, **not** the logo. Have users confirm which one.
- **Lock the name (and validate the idea) before you make a logo.** A logo is downstream: validate demand first
(`/sales-idea-validation`), settle the name (`/sales-namelix`), *then* brand — never brand a name you might change.
- **"Commercial use" ≠ a registered trademark — do your own clearance.** Purchased packages grant commercial usage
rights, but the **icons come from a 10,000+ library shared across all LogoMaker users** and templates aren't
removed after purchase, so a mark can be **non-distinctive** and others can generate near-identical logos. Tell
users to run a **USPTO/EUIPO** search + distinctiveness check in the right class, and check the **domain + handles**.
- **There is NO public API — don't plan a pipeline or a reseller integration around it.** If asked to "use the
LogoMaker API," generate logos in bulk from a script, or "white-label / resell" it: be precise — LogoMaker.com is a
**human-in-the-loop UI tool** with **no REST endpoints, no webhooks, no Zapier/Make, no MCP**. The white-label
"logo API" and reseller programs that show up in search belong to **other tools (LogoAI, LOGO.com)**, not
LogoMaker — **don't assume one exists or invent endpoints.** (Deluxe has enterprise payments/print APIs, but those
are **not** the logo maker.) For programmatic logo/image generation at volume, use an **image-generation service
  with a documented API**.

If you discover a gotcha or tip not in `references/learnings.md`, append it there with today's date.

## Gotchas

*Best-effort from research (2026-07) — plans, prices, and formats move; verify at logomaker.com.*

- **There is NO free download.** Designing is free; **every file is paid** (Professional ~$40 / Premium ~$60,
one-time). Don't conflate "free to create" with "free to download" — you get nothing until you buy. For a free
logo, use **Namecheap** (free, incl. SVG) or **Hatchful** (free PNG).
- **Vector (SVG) is in the base Professional package.** Unlike DesignEvo (vector is Plus-only) and LOGO.com
(subscription), the ~$40 Professional one-time already includes **high-res PNG + vector SVG** (reported formats
also include JPEG/EPS/PDF — treat the exact per-tier format list as best-effort).
- **The logo is one-time; the Deluxe add-ons are recurring.** The website/hosting, business email, business
listings, and card/merch services are **monthly subscriptions** — that's where the **repeated-charge /
hard-to-cancel / no-refund** complaints come from. Check what you're actually subscribing to.
- **Refunds are hard, especially after 60 days.** Users report refund requests refused, with a stated **60-day**
cutoff on reorders/refunds. Decide before you pay; keep records.
- **A "premium download" may not match expectations.** At least one user paid for premium (high-res, transparent) and
reportedly got low-res / white-background files, then was prompted to pay again — verify the files immediately and
  contact support if they're wrong.
- **Icons are shared across all users.** The 10,000+ icon library is pre-made and shared; templates aren't removed
after purchase — so the mark can be **non-distinctive**. Commercial use ≠ a registered trademark; run a USPTO/EUIPO
clearance and check the domain + handles.
- **NO public API, webhooks, Zapier/Make, or MCP.** UI-only; logo generation can't be scripted. The white-label
"logo APIs" in search results are **other tools** (LogoAI, LOGO.com) — don't assume LogoMaker has one.
- **Don't confuse LogoMaker.com with LogoMakr.com** — different products (LogoMakr / logomakr.com is a separate,
cheaper vector-editor tool). This skill is **logomaker.com** (Deluxe/LogoMix).

## Related skills

- `/sales-namelix` — Generate the business name first (a logo is the hand-off from the name)
- `/sales-namecheap-logo-maker` — The **free peer that also gives free VECTOR (SVG)** — reach for it when the user wants a free scalable logo (LogoMaker has no free download at all)
- `/sales-hatchful` — The other **free** logo maker (Shopify Logo Maker) — free but **PNG-only, no vector**; compare on "which free logo maker"
- `/sales-designevo` — A **one-time** freemium template maker where the **free tier downloads** (credited low-res PNG) but **vector is paid Plus-only** — the closest one-time peer to compare against (LogoMaker's vector is in the base package)
- `/sales-logo-com` — A **subscription** AI logo maker whose free tier gives a free PNG — compare one-time (LogoMaker) vs subscription
- `/sales-logoai` — Budget AI logo maker + Brand Center (**one-time** pay-to-download) — compare paid AI logo makers and pricing models
- `/sales-idea-validation` — The validate-before-building method and the full naming/branding landscape (validate and name before you brand; also covers the raster→vector / print-readiness problem)
- `/sales-canva` — Once the logo's done, build the wider marketing/social creative and design system at scale
- `/sales-do` — Not sure which skill to use? The router matches any sales objective to the right skill. Install: `npx skills add sales-skills/sales --skill sales-do -a claude-code`

## Examples

### Example 1: "Is LogoMaker really free, or do I have to pay?"
**User says**: "LogoMaker.com let me design a logo for free. Can I download it for free?"
**Skill does**: States plainly that **designing is free but there is NO free download** — every file requires buying a
**one-time package** (Professional ~$40 = high-res PNG + vector SVG; Premium ~$60 adds 1-year edits + social files;
best-effort). Points a user who wants a **free** logo to **Namecheap** (free, incl. SVG) or **Hatchful** (free PNG).
Flags pricing as best-effort → logomaker.com.
**Result**: The user knows the free design is a preview they can't keep, and pays knowingly or switches to a free peer.

### Example 2: "I need a vector SVG — which package, and how does it compare to DesignEvo?" (formats / references)
**User says**: "My printer needs a vector SVG. Which LogoMaker plan gives it, and is DesignEvo cheaper for vector?"
**Skill does**: Explains LogoMaker's **Professional ~$40** (one-time) already includes **vector SVG + high-res PNG**,
whereas **DesignEvo** puts vector behind **Plus** and **LOGO.com** behind a **subscription** — so for a one-time paid
vector, LogoMaker is competitive. Notes a raster PNG pixelates at print sizes, and ownership ≠ trademark → run a
USPTO/EUIPO clearance.
**Result**: The user picks the right package for a print-ready vector and understands the one-time-vs-subscription trade-off.

### Example 3: "Can I use the LogoMaker API to generate logos in bulk, or resell it?" (developer/automation)
**User says**: "How do I call the LogoMaker.com API to auto-generate 200 client logos, and is there a white-label reseller program?"
**Skill does**: States LogoMaker.com has **no public API** — a **UI tool** with **no REST endpoints, webhooks,
Zapier/Make, or MCP** — so logo generation **cannot be scripted**. Clarifies the white-label "logo API" / reseller
programs in search results belong to **other tools (LogoAI, LOGO.com)**, not LogoMaker, and doesn't invent one.
Suggests an **image-generation service with a documented API** for bulk generation.
**Result**: The user avoids building on a nonexistent API and picks a workable path.

## Troubleshooting

### "I designed a logo but can't download it without paying — is that normal?"
**Symptom**: You finished a logo but every download prompts a purchase.
**Cause**: LogoMaker is **free to design, paid to download** — there is **no free tier output**. You must buy a
**one-time package** (Professional ~$40 or Premium ~$60).
**Solution**: If you need a **free** logo, use **Namecheap Logo Maker** (free, incl. SVG) or **Hatchful** (free PNG).
Otherwise buy the package that includes what you need (Professional already includes vector SVG). Confirm current
prices at logomaker.com.

### "I keep getting charged / can't cancel — where's that coming from?"
**Symptom**: Recurring charges you didn't expect, or trouble cancelling.
**Cause**: The **logo package is one-time**, but LogoMaker/Deluxe upsells **recurring** services (website/hosting,
business email, listings, cards/merch). Nearly all billing complaints trace to these, not the logo.
**Solution**: Find exactly which **subscription** you signed up for, cancel that specific service, and keep the
confirmation. For refund disputes, note the reported **60-day** cutoff and escalate promptly.

### "I paid for premium but got low-res / white-background files."
**Symptom**: The purchased files don't match the promised high-res/transparent output.
**Cause**: A reported issue where a premium purchase delivered low-res or white-background files and re-downloading
prompted another payment.
**Solution**: Don't pay again — **contact support with your order details** for the correct files (and a refund if
unresolved). Verify files immediately after purchase.
