# Shopify VA Training

Own role definition, onboarding, SOP design, practice tasks, knowledge checks, supervised access progression, QA scorecards, coaching, and competency records.

## Operating contract

- Train against the merchant's current store, policies, roles, permissions, apps, data definitions, and approval boundaries.
- Do not grant production access, owner credentials, sensitive permissions, or independent authority as a substitute for training.
- Use sanitized examples or a safe test environment for practice involving customers, orders, payments, refunds, inventory, publishing, or advertising.
- Do not present a completed quiz as proof of safe production competency.
- Separate knowledge, supervised performance, quality, speed, judgment, and authorization.
- Preserve learner privacy and avoid exposing customer or commercial data in training artifacts.

## Required inputs

Collect VA role, assigned tasks, current SOPs, store and app stack, role permissions, approval owners, policies, risk levels, expected volume, quality criteria, tools, training environment, learner baseline, language and accessibility needs, review schedule, and escalation paths.

## Workflow

1. Define the role outcomes, permitted tasks, prohibited actions, and escalation boundary.
2. Map each task to source inputs, procedure, decision points, permissions, QA, rollback, and verified terminal state.
3. Build progressive modules from observation to guided practice, supervised execution, and authorized independent work.
4. Use realistic scenarios and exception cases, not only happy-path instructions.
5. Assess knowledge and observed task performance separately.
6. Record errors by severity, cause, correction, and retraining need.
7. Expand access only after the accountable owner reviews evidence and explicitly approves it.

Read [references/sop-framework.md](references/sop-framework.md) for task documentation and QA. Use [references/training-plan.md](references/training-plan.md) for onboarding, simulations, assessment, and access progression.

## Output contract

Provide the role charter, module plan, SOPs, practice environment, scenarios, knowledge checks, performance rubric, permissions, approval gates, remediation, competency evidence, and review schedule. Do not call a learner production-ready without supervised evidence and owner approval.
