# Codex bridge — read first

This skill was ported from a Claude Code slash command (`/uberthink`). On Codex:

- **`$ARGUMENTS`** below = the user's free-text request (the words after the
  command name, or your whole task description if invoked implicitly).
- **`Task` tool** calls → use `spawn_agent`; collect results with `wait_agent`
  (see ~/.agents/skills/using-uberdev/references/codex-tools.md for the
  named-agent mapping).
- **`Skill` tool** invocations → skills load natively; just follow the named
  skill's instructions.
- **`Workflow` tool** (testers/uberscan/ubersimplify) → no Codex equivalent;
  follow the skill's `## No-Workflow fallback` section instead.
- **`MultiEdit`** → apply edits with your native file-edit tool.

Original argument hint: `<goal text> [--islands N] [--handoff] [--no-issues] [--max-new N]`

# /uberthink — cross-domain ideation engine

Takes a hard technical goal in free text and produces a **ranked dossier of novel
approaches** — generated by importing the best mechanisms from a tech-centered catalog
of donor domains (SWE, game dev, IT/systems, math + far-field wildcards), fusing them
via genetic-algorithm-style crossover across parallel **islands**, and stress-testing
them through a falsification fleet so crackpot ideas die before they reach you. Output
is a dossier with a dedicated **moonshot lane** plus the top idea(s) auto-filed as
GitHub issues. **Never writes application code** — the absence of `Edit`/`MultiEdit`
above is the enforced read-only invariant. (Design: `docs/rfc/0009-uberthink-ideation-engine.md`.)

> **Warning:** `/uberthink` is **always-deep**. One island already costs roughly **15× a
> normal chat** in tokens (the Anthropic multi-agent research economics); `--islands N`
> multiplies that. The default `--islands 2` is therefore **~30× a normal chat**. Use
> this command deliberately — it is designed for hard, high-leverage problems, not for
> small questions a single `/uberdev:brainstorm` would answer.

## Usage
`/uberthink <goal text> [flags]` — quote multi-word goals.

| Flag | Effect |
|------|--------|
| `--islands N` | Number of parallel evolutionary islands (default 2). `--islands 1` disables island mode and Wave-6 cross-pollinate becomes passthrough. |
| `--handoff` | After filing the issue, auto-invoke `Skill(uberdev:brainstorm)` seeded with the #1 dossier section so a real design pass starts immediately. |
| `--no-issues` | Skip the `findings-to-issues` filing step (dossier-only run). |
| `--max-new N` | Cap on how many top ideas get filed as GitHub issues (default 3). |

## Implementation

Invoke the `uberdev:uberthink-pipeline` skill with `$ARGUMENTS` in scope. The skill owns
all phases (frame + scope gate, per-island Waves 1–5 with genetic loop-back, cross-pollinate,
rank + deliver, dossier render, issue filing, optional `--handoff`). This command
performs only preflight validation, then hands off:

```bash
# Preflight
if ! git rev-parse --is-inside-work-tree >/dev/null 2>&1; then
  echo "error: /uberthink must run inside a git repository" >&2; exit 2
fi
if ! printf '%s' "$ARGUMENTS" | grep -qE '[^[:space:]-]'; then
  echo "error: /uberthink requires a goal text argument (got empty / flags-only)" >&2; exit 2
fi
```

Then invoke `Skill(uberdev:uberthink-pipeline)` with the same `$ARGUMENTS`.
