# Write Short Video Hooks

## Catalog

- Display name: Write Short Video Hooks
- Text category: yes
- Categories: Text, Social Media, Video
- Status: Ready
- Route label: Agent-authored hook variants
- Tone: blue
- Short description: Write three platform-native hooks that the content can honestly pay off.

## What this skill does

- Extracts the real audience tension and promised payoff from a topic or script.
- Produces three non-duplicative hooks using different attention mechanisms.
- Recommends one lead variant while preserving factual truth and body alignment.

## How to use

Provide the topic or script, audience, platform, desired action, voice, factual constraints, and any banned claims.

#### Example

```text
Write three hooks for a 30-second LinkedIn video explaining why small teams should document failed experiments. Keep each under 12 words and avoid fearmongering.
```

## Workflow

1. Extract audience, immediate tension, concrete value, evidence available in the body, platform voice, and exact constraints. Ask only when the missing audience or angle would materially change the result.
2. Select three different mechanisms suited to the material, such as specific consequence, open question, contrarian correction, confession, story opening, or useful list. Do not merely paraphrase one sentence three times.
3. Write one spoken opening per mechanism. Default to 12 words or fewer, front-load the distinguishing idea, and make it natural aloud. Do not invent statistics, credentials, urgency, scarcity, controversy, or results.
4. For each variant report its mechanism and best-use reason. Then recommend one lead hook based on audience fit, specificity, and the body's ability to pay it off—not a claim of predicted virality.
5. Validate distinctness, truth, platform tone, word limit, speakability, and payoff alignment. If the source cannot support a hook, soften or replace it.

This Atom performs no paid generation. Hand the selected hook to the relevant script, commercial, explainer, or social-video workflow.
