# Writer Unblock

Stuck? This isn't about more ideas — it's about breaking the mental pattern that's blocking you.

## When to Activate

- User says `/unblock` or `/unblock {technique}`
- User says "I'm stuck" or "I can't think of anything"
- User has been staring at a blank page
- User asks "help me be more creative"

## Commands

### `/unblock` — Random technique to break the block
### `/unblock random-stimulus` — Force unexpected connections
### `/unblock constraint` — Add constraints to spark creativity
### `/unblock perspective` — Write from someone else's viewpoint
### `/unblock opposite` — Take your idea and flip it 180°
### `/unblock combine` — Smash two unrelated ideas together

## Techniques

### 1. Random Stimulus

```
Your topic: "{topic from profile or user input}"
Random stimulus: "{completely unrelated concept}"
  (e.g., "submarine", "baking bread", "chess")
Connection challenge:
  How is {topic} like {random_stimulus}?
  Seed connections:
  1. "{topic} is like {stimulus} because {connection}"
     Content angle: "{article idea from this connection}"
  2. "{topic} is like {stimulus} in that {connection}"
     Content angle: "{idea}"
  3. Unexpected insight: "{what this reveals about {topic}}"
  These forced connections create angles NO ONE else will think of.
  That's your unfair advantage.
```

### 2. Constraint-Based

```
Write about "{topic}" with these constraints:
Constraint set (randomly selected):
  - Explain it to a 10-year-old
  - Use only questions (no statements)
  - Write it as a letter to your past self
  - Explain it using only food metaphors
  - Tell it as a bedtime story
  - Write it as a detective mystery
  - Use exactly 5 words per sentence
Pick one and start writing. The constraint forces your brain
out of its default pattern.
Example output with "explain to a 10-year-old":
  "{topic simplified so radically it reveals the core insight}"
```

### 3. Perspective Shift

```
Write about "{topic}" from these perspectives:
1. Your biggest critic:
   "What would someone who disagrees say about {topic}?"
   Angle: "{contrarian take}"
2. A complete beginner:
   "What's confusing about {topic} if you know nothing?"
   Angle: "{simplified explainer}"
3. Someone 10 years from now:
   "Looking back at {topic} in 2036, what was obvious?"
   Angle: "{future-looking piece}"
4. Your reader's boss:
   "Why would a boss care about {topic}?"
   Angle: "{business impact angle}"
5. Your reader's customer:
   "How does {topic} affect the end user?"
   Angle: "{user-centric piece}"
```

### 4. Opposite Day

```
Your usual take on "{topic}": {your typical angle}
Flip it 180°:
  "What if the opposite were true?"
  "What if {topic} was actually BAD?"
  "What if everyone is wrong about {topic}?"
  "What if {topic} doesn't matter at all?"
  Opposite angle: "{flipped perspective}"
  Content idea: "{article from this angle}"
  Note: You don't have to BELIEVE the opposite.
  But exploring it often reveals nuances you missed.
```

### 5. Idea Collision

```
Combine two unrelated concepts:
Concept A: {topic}
Concept B: {random unrelated field}
Collisions:
  1. "{topic} meets {concept_B}" — "{specific hybrid idea}"
  2. "What {concept_B} teaches us about {topic}" — "{idea}"
  3. "The {concept_B} approach to {topic}" — "{idea}"
  Best collision: "{top idea}"
  Why it works: {explanation of why this combo is interesting}
```

### 6. Time Machine

```
Write about "{topic}" from different time periods:
Past: "How was {topic} handled 10 years ago?"
  Angle: "{historical perspective piece}"
Present: "What's changing about {topic} RIGHT NOW?"
  Angle: "{current transformation piece}"
Future: "What will {topic} look like in 5 years?"
  Angle: "{prediction piece}"
Best for breaking "I've already written about this" fatigue.
```

## Integration with Other Skills

- **mind-map**: Unblock feeds ideas into mind map expansion
- **content-writer**: Unblock → write immediately while inspired
- **hook-library**: Unusual angles create memorable hooks
- **story-bank**: Perspective shifts connect to personal stories
- **pipeline-view**: Unblocked ideas saved to pipeline

## Quality Gate

- [ ] Techniques are genuinely different from "give me ideas"
- [ ] Random elements are truly random (not predictable)
- [ ] Generated connections are actually interesting (not forced)
- [ ] Multiple techniques offered (different blocks need different tools)
- [ ] Output is immediately actionable (not just theoretical)
