AWS Agent Session Audit

Category: Engineering  ·  Sub-category: cloud-platforms  ·  Last updated:
cloud:awsai:agenttype:audittype:review
Audit what an AI coding agent did in an AWS account and which permissions it never needed, from a saved CloudTrail export filtered to the agent's role session: actions by service, writes versus reads, calls outside a declared allow list, logging tampering, destructive and IAM calls, resources touched, errors and the time window. Use when asked \"what did the agent do in our AWS account?\", after an agent session or before widening its role. Not for reviewing policy text (iam-least-privilege-review) or for an agent's local tool calls (agent-session-log-review in agent-security).

From the source SKILL.md

When an AI coding agent works in an AWS account through its own role, every call it makes lands in CloudTrail under the role session name (for example agent@operator, the pattern agent-safe-aws-access sets up). This skill exports those events read-only and answers three questions offline: what did the session do (by service, reads and writes, resources, errors, time window), did it step outside what was agreed (an allow list, logging and detection changes, destructive and IAM calls, other regions, probing), and which granted permissions did it never use, as a proposal to remove them.

What this skill does

AWS Agent Session Audit is a community-contributed Claude Code skill in the cloud-platforms sub-category. It ships as a SKILL.md file that Claude Code auto-discovers under ~/.claude/skills/aws-agent-session-audit/ and loads when your prompt matches the skill's trigger.

When to invoke it: Use when asked \"what did the agent do in our AWS account?\", after an agent session or before widening its role. Not for reviewing policy text (iam-least-privilege-review) or for an agent's local tool calls (agent-session-log-review in agent-security).

Who uses this skill

The AWS Agent Session Audit Claude Code skill is built for software engineers, backend developers, full-stack teams, and technical leads building and maintaining production systems. It's part of ClaudSkills (also referred to as Claude Skills or Claude Code Skills) — the open community-curated registry of 211,000+ SKILL.md files for Anthropic's Claude Code agent and the wider Claude ecosystem (Claude API, Claude Agent SDK).
