Behavior Driven Testing

Category: Engineering  ·  Sub-category: testing  ·  Last updated:
type:review
Guides writing of behavior-driven Go unit tests that prioritize testing meaningful behaviors over chasing code coverage. Triggers when writing, reviewing, or planning unit tests -- 'add tests', 'write tests', 'test this function', 'improve coverage', or implementing features/bugfixes that need tests.

From the source SKILL.md

This skill ensures unit tests verify meaningful behaviors rather than just exercising code paths. Coverage is a useful signal, but a test suite full of shallow assertions that happen to touch every line is worse than a smaller suite that deeply validates the behaviors users and callers actually depend on.

What this skill does

Behavior Driven Testing is a community-contributed Claude Code skill in the testing sub-category. It ships as a SKILL.md file that Claude Code auto-discovers under ~/.claude/skills/behavior-driven-testing/ and loads when your prompt matches the skill's trigger.

Who uses this skill

The Behavior Driven Testing Claude Code skill is built for software engineers, backend developers, full-stack teams, and technical leads building and maintaining production systems. It's part of ClaudSkills (also referred to as Claude Skills or Claude Code Skills) — the open community-curated registry of 117,000+ SKILL.md files for Anthropic's Claude Code agent and the wider Claude ecosystem (Claude API, Claude Agent SDK).
