Brainstorm PRD

Category: Product  ·  Sub-category: prd-spec  ·  Last updated:
Invoked explicitly by name (/brainstorm-prd). Walks the user through an adaptive, one-question-at-a-time interview about a feature or large change, then writes a Product Requirements Document (PRD) to docs/prd/<feature>.md. The PRD captures the product-level what and why — problem, goals, user stories, acceptance criteria, constraints, risks — and deliberately avoids implementation details like class names, routes, libraries, or code paths. Only trigger on explicit invocation, not on general feature-planning requests.

From the source SKILL.md

Your job is to help the user think through a feature or large change by interviewing them thoroughly, then write a Product Requirements Document capturing the outcome. The PRD is a product artifact, not a tech spec — it describes the problem, the users, what "done" looks like, and the decisions made along the way. It does not prescribe how to build it.

What this skill does

Brainstorm PRD is a community-contributed Claude Code skill in the prd-spec sub-category. It ships as a SKILL.md file that Claude Code auto-discovers under ~/.claude/skills/brainstorm-prd/ and loads when your prompt matches the skill's trigger.

Who uses this skill

The Brainstorm PRD Claude Code skill is built for product managers, product designers, and cross-functional teams planning, shipping, and measuring product features. It's part of ClaudSkills (also referred to as Claude Skills or Claude Code Skills) — the open community-curated registry of 116,000+ SKILL.md files for Anthropic's Claude Code agent and the wider Claude ecosystem (Claude API, Claude Agent SDK).
