Cross Platform Determinism
For any script that produces a file the repo COMMITS and CI DIFFS — generated HTML, lockfiles, JSON snapshots, fixture files, documentation rendered from source. The output must be byte-identical regardless of who regenerated it or on what OS. This skill catches the specific failure modes that turn a freshness gate into a paper tiger that fails forever — OS-dependent path separators, locale-dependent encodings, nondeterministic ordering, drifting timestamps. Triggers on phrases like "freshness check failing", "regenerated locally but diff doesn't match", "works in CI not on Windows", "generator produces different output", and on any review of a script whose output is committed.

From the source SKILL.md
A generated artifact that is committed to the repo and diff-checked in CI must be byte-identical regardless of who regenerated it or on what OS. If a Windows contributor regenerates and the bytes drift, the freshness gate fails forever — until someone hand-fixes the platform difference, which usually means quietly committing whatever the gate accepts and moving on.
What this skill does
Cross Platform Determinism is a community-contributed Claude Code skill in the frontend sub-category. It ships as a SKILL.md file that Claude Code auto-discovers under ~/.claude/skills/cross-platform-determinism/ and loads when your prompt matches the skill's trigger.
Who uses this skill
The Cross Platform Determinism Claude Code skill is built for software engineers, backend developers, full-stack teams, and technical leads building and maintaining production systems. It's part of ClaudSkills (also referred to as Claude Skills or Claude Code Skills) — the open community-curated registry of 158,000+ SKILL.md files for Anthropic's Claude Code agent and the wider Claude ecosystem (Claude API, Claude Agent SDK).
