Diff Security Review

Category: Security  ·  Sub-category: security-misc  ·  Last updated:
type:review
Review a change for what it adds to the attack surface before it merges: a bundled script scans only the added lines of a saved git or gh diff for new network calls, shell and process execution, unsafe deserialisation, SQL built from strings, credential-shaped literals, disabled TLS checks and new permissions in workflows and manifests, with file and line. Use when asked \"is this PR safe security-wise?\" or for a security pass on one diff. Not for a general review (review-checklist) or a whole-repository secrets scan (secrets-hygiene).

From the source SKILL.md

Most security regressions arrive in an ordinary pull request: a new HTTP call with certificate checks off, a subprocess call with shell=True, a query assembled with an f-string, a workflow that now asks for contents: write. This skill scans only what the change adds, so the reviewer looks at a short list of lines instead of the whole repository, and then reads each hit with its surrounding code to decide whether it is a problem.

What this skill does

Diff Security Review is a community-contributed Claude Code skill in the security-misc sub-category. It ships as a SKILL.md file that Claude Code auto-discovers under ~/.claude/skills/diff-security-review/ and loads when your prompt matches the skill's trigger.

When to invoke it: Use when asked \"is this PR safe security-wise?\" or for a security pass on one diff. Not for a general review (review-checklist) or a whole-repository secrets scan (secrets-hygiene).

Who uses this skill

The Diff Security Review Claude Code skill is built for security engineers, penetration testers, DevSecOps practitioners, and development teams hardening codebases and infrastructure. It's part of ClaudSkills (also referred to as Claude Skills or Claude Code Skills) — the open community-curated registry of 213,000+ SKILL.md files for Anthropic's Claude Code agent and the wider Claude ecosystem (Claude API, Claude Agent SDK).
