Exec Comms

Category: Sales  ·  Sub-category: sales-misc  ·  Last updated:

Write executive-level business communication — board updates, QBRs, stakeholder updates, escalations, proposals, and decision memos — structured so the reader gets the decision in the first paragraph. Use this whenever the user asks to write or review something going to executives, a board, a leadership team, or a customer sponsor: a board update, QBR deck, exec summary, status report, decision memo, escalation, budget request, or "make this shorter and sharper for leadership". Also use it when a draft buries its ask under context.

From the source SKILL.md

Executives read differently. They are scanning for a decision, a risk, or a number, across a queue of documents that all want something. The writing convention most people learned — build context, develop the argument, arrive at the conclusion — is precisely backwards for this reader, because it makes them work through material they may not need to reach the part they do.
