Honeybadger Investigate

Category: Engineering  ·  Sub-category: engineering-misc  ·  Last updated:
type:debug
Investigates a production problem with Honeybadger Insights events, faults, and deploys, and reports what happened, why, and who was affected. Use when the user brings a customer support ticket or complaint ("a customer says checkout failed"), says the app was slow or down, asks what happened during an incident or outage or for a postmortem, or asks why a metric changed. For a single known error (a fault link, ID, or error class) use honeybadger-debug-errors instead.

The answer is usually in the events, not the error list. Insights holds every request, job, and query the app logged, plus Honeybadger's own notice (one per error) and deploy events. Your job is to find the events that belong to this problem, follow them to their cause, and say what you know and how you know it.

What this skill does

Honeybadger Investigate is a community-contributed Claude Code skill in the engineering-misc sub-category. It ships as a SKILL.md file that Claude Code auto-discovers under ~/.claude/skills/honeybadger-investigate/ and loads when your prompt matches the skill's trigger.

When to invoke it: Use when the user brings a customer support ticket or complaint ("a customer says checkout failed"), says the app was slow or down, asks what happened during an incident or outage or for a postmortem, or asks why a metric changed. For a single known error (a fault link, ID, or error class) use honeybadger-debug-errors instead.

Who uses this skill

The Honeybadger Investigate Claude Code skill is built for software engineers, backend developers, full-stack teams, and technical leads building and maintaining production systems.
