Hunt Tls C2

Category: Security  ·  Sub-category: network-security  ·  Last updated:
Hunt for malicious TLS in Suricata eve.json (event_type:tls). Detects DGA / high-entropy / word-list SNI, IP-literal and malformed SNI, high-abuse TLDs (.xyz/.cc/.cyou/.sbs/.cfd/.top/.online/.icu/etc.), IP-literal and invalid cert Subject/Issuer CN, self-signed and OpenSSL-default certificates (subject==issuer, "Internet Widgits", "Default City", CN=localhost/0.0.0.0), then correlates each suspicious SNI to event_type:flow via flow_id to surface long-lived C2 sessions (flow.age > 5 min) and repetitive single-destination beacons, and pivots on shared JA3/JA4 fingerprints. Prints a structured report with an evidence table. Use when asked to hunt malicious/C2/DGA TLS, find suspicious SNI or certificates, or triage HTTPS beaconing in a Suricata log.

From the source SKILL.md

Detect, correlate, and report suspicious TLS activity from a Suricata eve.json log. The hunt fuses name-based signals (SNI, certificate Subject/Issuer) with behavioural signals (flow age, repetition, byte volume) and fingerprint signals (JA3/JA4), because any single axis produces false positives on modern CDNs.

What this skill does

Hunt Tls C2 is a community-contributed Claude Code skill in the network-security sub-category. It ships as a SKILL.md file that Claude Code auto-discovers under ~/.claude/skills/hunt-tls-c2/ and loads when your prompt matches the skill's trigger.

When to invoke it: Use when asked to hunt malicious/C2/DGA TLS, find suspicious SNI or certificates, or triage HTTPS beaconing in a Suricata log.

Who uses this skill

The Hunt Tls C2 Claude Code skill is built for security engineers, penetration testers, DevSecOps practitioners, and development teams hardening codebases and infrastructure. It's part of ClaudSkills (also referred to as Claude Skills or Claude Code Skills) — the open community-curated registry of 176,000+ SKILL.md files for Anthropic's Claude Code agent and the wider Claude ecosystem (Claude API, Claude Agent SDK).
