Proc Test Gen

Category: Engineering  ·  Sub-category: testing  ·  Last updated:
Derive source-of-truth functional-equivalence assertions for ONE converted Informatica-to-Snowflake-Scripting mapping procedure (data-flow), independent of the converted SQL. Seeds input, deploys+CALLs the proc in an isolated test schema, and grades its target table against expected contents computed from the source mapping. From the source SKILL.md

Generate and run a functional-equivalence check for a single converted mapping procedure — an Informatica mapping converted to a standalone Snowflake Scripting stored procedure — from the original data-flow logic in the source mapping. The expected target-table contents are computed from the source mapping applied to the seeded input, NOT from the converted SQL under repair, so the assertions are an independent oracle. All generated artifacts are stored in <UNIT>/stabilization/tests/proc/<proc_name>/.

What this skill does

Proc Test Gen is a community-contributed Claude Code skill in the testing sub-category. It ships as a SKILL.md file that Claude Code auto-discovers under ~/.claude/skills/proc-test-gen/ and loads when your prompt matches the skill's trigger.

When to invoke it: Use when the stabilization skill invokes test generation for a scripting-flavor mapping proc.

Who uses this skill

The Proc Test Gen Claude Code skill is built for software engineers, backend developers, full-stack teams, and technical leads building and maintaining production systems. It's part of ClaudSkills (also referred to as Claude Skills or Claude Code Skills) — the open community-curated registry of 211,000+ SKILL.md files for Anthropic's Claude Code agent and the wider Claude ecosystem (Claude API, Claude Agent SDK).

Frequently asked questions

How do I install the Proc Test Gen Claude Code skill?
Install via the ClaudSkills desktop app (one click) or copy SKILL.md from the source repository to ~/.claude/skills/proc-test-gen/SKILL.md and restart Claude Code. Both flows are detailed at claudskills.com/install/.
What does the Proc Test Gen skill do?
Derive source-of-truth functional-equivalence assertions for ONE converted Informatica-to-Snowflake-Scripting mapping procedure (data-flow), independent of the converted SQL. Seeds input, deploys+CALLs the proc in an isolated test schema, and grades its target table against expected contents computed from the source mapping. Browse related skills at /category/engineering/.
What is a Claude Code skill and how does the Proc Test Gen skill fit in?
A Claude Code skill is a SKILL.md file that lives under ~/.claude/skills/<name>/ and tells the Claude Code CLI agent how to perform a specific task (instructions, prompts, allowed tools).
