Python Workers
Queue consumers and background jobs in Python, whatever the broker: the handler as a plain function over the application's services, at-least-once delivery and idempotency on the event's own id, acknowledging only after the work committed, bounded redelivery ending in a dead-letter queue, one retry layer instead of the broker's and tenacity's together, versioned payloads validated as JSON, a deadline inside the ack deadline, graceful shutdown inside the grace period, ordering, and testing a handler — with Celery, taskiq, aiokafka and arq mapped in a table and FastStream's mechanics in python-faststream. Use when designing or reviewing a queue consumer, a task or a background job, or deciding how a message is acknowledged, retried or dead-lettered.

From the source SKILL.md
Consumer design, whatever the broker. The examples are plain functions over the application's own contracts; the broker library is only what calls them. How a library carries each rule out is its own skill — FastStream on RabbitMQ is python-faststream — or, for Celery 5.6, taskiq 0.13, aiokafka 0.14 and arq 0.28, a row in the table at the end. The boundary rules a consumer shares with every adapter — idempotent consumers, one retry level, versioned payloads — are in python-boundaries; this file is what a worker adds.
What this skill does
Python Workers is a community-contributed Claude Code skill in the languages sub-category. It ships as a SKILL.md file that Claude Code auto-discovers under ~/.claude/skills/python-workers/ and loads when your prompt matches the skill's trigger.
When to invoke it: Use when designing or reviewing a queue consumer, a task or a background job, or deciding how a message is acknowledged, retried or dead-lettered.
Who uses this skill
The Python Workers Claude Code skill is built for software engineers, backend developers, full-stack teams, and technical leads building and maintaining production systems. It's part of ClaudSkills (also referred to as Claude Skills or Claude Code Skills) — the open community-curated registry of 206,000+ SKILL.md files for Anthropic's Claude Code agent and the wider Claude ecosystem (Claude API, Claude Agent SDK).

When should I use the Python Workers skill?
Use Python Workers when your Claude Code task falls under the Engineering category — specifically in the languages area. Claude Code auto-discovers installed skills and invokes the right one based on the task description, so you can also ask Claude directly (e.g. "use Python Workers" or describe the task and let Claude pick). Browse related skills at
/category/engineering/.
What is a Claude Code skill and how does the Python Workers skill fit in?
A Claude Code skill is a
SKILL.md file that lives under
~/.claude/skills/<name>/ and tells the Claude Code CLI agent how to perform a specific task (instructions, prompts, allowed tools). Skills are auto-discovered at session start. Python Workers is one of 67,000+ skills indexed in the open ClaudSkills catalog, classified under the Engineering category. Learn more at
