Rfc Lifecycle

Draft a design proposal (RFC) with a fixed section list and a security review checklist, then lint a folder of RFCs for the status header, review questions with no answer, open questions left in review or accepted RFCs, a missing decision date or section, and RFCs in review over 14 days. Use when asked to \"draft an RFC for this design\" or which RFCs are stuck in review. Not for architecture decision records (adr-writer once accepted), choosing the design, or replacing the review itself.

From the source SKILL.md

A design proposal goes through a small lifecycle: drafted, sent for review, answered, decided. Each step has a failure people only notice late: questions asked in review that nobody answered, an "accepted" RFC with no decision date, a proposal that has sat in review for a month. This skill writes RFCs to one fixed outline with a security review checklist, and its script lints a folder of them for those failures.

What this skill does

Rfc Lifecycle is a community-contributed Claude Code skill in the security-misc sub-category. It ships as a SKILL.md file that Claude Code auto-discovers under ~/.claude/skills/rfc-lifecycle/ and loads when your prompt matches the skill's trigger.

When to invoke it: Use when asked to \"draft an RFC for this design\" or which RFCs are stuck in review. Not for architecture decision records (adr-writer once accepted), choosing the design, or replacing the review itself.

Who uses this skill

The Rfc Lifecycle Claude Code skill is built for security engineers, penetration testers, DevSecOps practitioners, and development teams hardening codebases and infrastructure. It's part of ClaudSkills (also referred to as Claude Skills or Claude Code Skills) — the open community-curated registry of 213,000+ SKILL.md files for Anthropic's Claude Code agent and the wider Claude ecosystem (Claude API, Claude Agent SDK).
