Sponsio
Install, observe, tune, enforce, and periodically refresh Sponsio — a runtime contract layer for LLM agents that blocks unsafe tool calls and scores output quality against declared rules. Use when the user wants to set up / add / install Sponsio, add guardrails or runtime safety to an LLM agent, generate or refine a sponsio.yaml, audit tool configurations for risks (data leaks, unguarded writes, missing confirmations), explain or review existing contracts, check what Sponsio would have blocked (`sponsio report`), refresh the contract library from recent traces (`sponsio refresh`), move from observe to enforce mode, or debug why a contract is (or isn't) firing. Triggers on phrases like "set up sponsio", "add sponsio", "install sponsio", "add guardrails", "monitor my agent", "harden my agent", "audit my agent", "generate contracts", "explain my sponsio.yaml", "sponsio report", "refresh contracts", "update my sponsio.yaml from traces", "flip to enforce", "false positive", "why is this rule firing".

From the source SKILL.md
Sponsio is a Python/TypeScript runtime safety layer for LLM agents: it evaluates deterministic contracts against each tool call and can block (enforce) or just log (observe) violations. (LLM-judged stochastic contracts — tone, prompt-injection, semantic PII, scope respect — are a Sponsio Cloud feature available via pip install sponsio[cloud]; the OSS engine is det-only.) This skill covers the full lifecycle — first-time setup, contract authoring/review, observe-mode tuning, and flipping to enforce — by orchestrating Sponsio's CLI and explaining its output in plain language.
What this skill does
Sponsio is a community-contributed Claude Code skill in the general-misc sub-category. It ships as a SKILL.md file that Claude Code auto-discovers under ~/.claude/skills/sponsio/ and loads when your prompt matches the skill's trigger.
When to invoke it: Use when the user wants to set up / add / install Sponsio, add guardrails or runtime safety to an LLM agent, generate or refine a sponsio.yaml, audit tool configurations for risks (data leaks, unguarded writes, missing confirmations), explain or review existing contracts, check what Sponsio would have blocked (`sponsio report`), refresh the contract library from recent traces (`sponsio refresh`), move from observe to enforce mode, or debug why a contract is (or isn't) firing.
Who uses this skill
The Sponsio Claude Code skill is built for Claude Code users and developers across all disciplines looking for general-purpose AI assistance. It's part of ClaudSkills (also referred to as Claude Skills or Claude Code Skills) — the open community-curated registry of 191,000+ SKILL.md files for Anthropic's Claude Code agent and the wider Claude ecosystem (Claude API, Claude Agent SDK).

Is this skill free to install?
Yes. ClaudSkills is an open registry — every skill keeps its source repository's license, and manual install via copy is free. ClaudSkills Pro ($9/mo, $79/yr, or $149 one-time) adds one-click install via the desktop app and a multi-signal Quality Score.
When should I use the Sponsio skill?
Use Sponsio when your Claude Code task falls under the General category — specifically in the general misc area. Claude Code auto-discovers installed skills and invokes the right one based on the task description, so you can also ask Claude directly (e.g. "use Sponsio" or describe the task and let Claude pick). Browse related skills at
/category/general/.
What is a Claude Code skill and how does the Sponsio skill fit in?
A Claude Code skill is a
SKILL.md file that lives under
~/.claude/skills/<name>/ and tells the Claude Code CLI agent how to perform a specific task (instructions, prompts, allowed tools). Skills are auto-discovered at session start. Sponsio is one of 67,000+ skills indexed in the open ClaudSkills catalog, classified under the General category. Learn more at
