Testify
Stand up a project's tests and prove they're worth anything. Where /start-project writes docs/TESTING.md (the intent, meaning the bar, the layers, the runner) but doesn't touch code, testify does the doing. It detects the stack, wires the runner, writes real tests across the layers (unit, integration + happy-path, e2e for UI), and then VERIFIES them by breaking the code on purpose. A test that stays green on broken code is theater. Runs in two modes, `full` (all layers + automated mutation testing + property tests) and `light` (the happy-path floor, meaning does it boot and respond, verified by hand-mutation, no automated gate). Reconciles docs/TESTING.md with what it actually built. Trigger on "/testify", "set up testing", "add tests to this project", "this project has no tests", "wire up the test suite", "write tests for this", "just make sure it runs".

From the source SKILL.md
The repo's other doors write about the project. /start-project surveys the stack and writes docs/TESTING.md, the intent behind a suite: the bar, the layers, the runner, where tests live. But it explicitly stops there; it doesn't write a line of test code. Testify is the door that does the testing. It wires the runner, writes the actual tests, and (the part that matters) proves they assert something by breaking the code and watching them fail. Then it reconciles docs/TESTING.md with what it really built.
What this skill does
Testify is a community-contributed Claude Code skill in the testing sub-category. It ships as a SKILL.md file that Claude Code auto-discovers under ~/.claude/skills/testify/ and loads when your prompt matches the skill's trigger.
Who uses this skill
The Testify Claude Code skill is built for software engineers, backend developers, full-stack teams, and technical leads building and maintaining production systems. It's part of ClaudSkills (also referred to as Claude Skills or Claude Code Skills) — the open community-curated registry of 211,000+ SKILL.md files for Anthropic's Claude Code agent and the wider Claude ecosystem (Claude API, Claude Agent SDK).

Is this skill free to install?
Yes. ClaudSkills is an open registry — every skill keeps its source repository's license, and manual install via copy is free. ClaudSkills Pro ($9/mo, $79/yr, or $149 one-time) adds one-click install via the desktop app and a multi-signal Quality Score.
When should I use the Testify skill?
Use Testify when your Claude Code task falls under the Engineering category — specifically in the testing area. Claude Code auto-discovers installed skills and invokes the right one based on the task description, so you can also ask Claude directly (e.g. "use Testify" or describe the task and let Claude pick). Browse related skills at
/category/engineering/.
What is a Claude Code skill and how does the Testify skill fit in?
A Claude Code skill is a
SKILL.md file that lives under
~/.claude/skills/<name>/ and tells the Claude Code CLI agent how to perform a specific task (instructions, prompts, allowed tools). Skills are auto-discovered at session start. Testify is one of 67,000+ skills indexed in the open ClaudSkills catalog, classified under the Engineering category. Learn more at
