Tax year: the calendar year 2026 (Veranlagungszeitraum 2026). A company with a financial year that does not match the calendar year is taxed on the profit of the financial year that ends in 2026 ([§ 7(4) KStG](https://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/kstg_1977/__7.html)). A German company pays three taxes on its profit: corporate income tax, the solidarity surcharge on that tax, and municipal trade tax. This skill covers the first two in full and summarises the third. For the trade tax method, use de-trade-tax.
