The release-branch composites (/pr-to-release, /release-cut, /hotfix, /dep-sweep, /first-pr, /branch-hygiene) all assume the repo is already configured for the model — a release branch on origin, a [Unreleased] changelog section, sensible defaults at .claude/*-config.json. Without that, the first composite invocation fails or makes uninformed defaults stick.
